Notice of the Filing of a Labor Condition Application with The Employment Training Administration

Job Title: Senior QA Test Engineer

Job Duties:

  • Perform ETL and BI report testing.
  • Create test plans and test scenarios based on business/functional requirements.
  • Review test plans and test scenarios with stake holders.
  • Work with SME and BA team to review and refine the business requirements.
  • Perform testing of the applications and use defect Management tools (Quality Center) in HP Quality Center suite of products.
  • Prepare adequate testing data for data marts, data warehouses or ETL tools such as Informatica to get started with testing with specific test scenarios.
  • Perform verification of BI reports or dashboard to conform to the report requirement / design specifications using the tools such as COGNOS, OBIEE and SAP BW.
  • Perform smoke, integration, functional and end-to-end testing based on the requirements.
  • Validate the operational process including extraction, transformation, data mapping and data load steps.
  • Test a number of complex ETL mappings, mapplets and reusable transformations for daily data loads.
  • Write complex SQL queries in Oracle and Teradata to verify data from Source to Target based on ETL Mapping Rules.
  • Perform in extensive DATA validation using SQL queries and back-end testing.
  • Perform troubleshooting, resolving and escalating data related issues and validating data to improve data quality.
  • Perform data reconciliation between source and target systems for completeness, conformity, consistency, accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop UNIX scripts to validate the flat files and to automate the manual test cases.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and provide solutions for potential issues like SQL query tuning for better performance.
  • Create test exit reports and review with project/business team.
  • Participate in stake holders’ meetings, Defect Management and daily scrum calls and report the progress, and also send across daily and weekly reports to all stakeholders.

Will work in Naperville, IL and/or various client sites throughout the U.S. Must be willing to travel and/or relocate.

Salary: $97,000/year
